Devblog: Update 67

4 min read

Update 67 focuses on implementing security fixes, making gameplay changes, and adding minor non-combat content. Alongside ongoing balance improvements across the game, this update also brings a range of quality-of-life enhancements, new visual effects and the return of cross-world Ocean Travel.

Roadmap

Update 67 is the last minor update of 2026. We have been working on a larger release to end off the year. That will come in the form of Update 68, which will bring new features and content to various parts of the game. Beyond that, we have begun working on a new roadmap to continue expanding Foxhole with new features, gameplay, and content in 2027, which will include the development of both minor and major updates.

Update 67 Preview

Cross World Ocean Travel

Ocean Travel has been re-enabled to allow for more dynamic naval gameplay. Large Ships can travel east-west between The Oarbreaker Isles and Lykos Isle, giving naval forces more strategic

flexibility. We've also developed a system to ensure that Ocean Travel is available even if these hexes are disabled during a War, allowing us to have more flexibility over Starting Conditions and ensuring that the naval theatre is always relevant to the war effort.

New Water Effects

Amphibious Aircraft now have visual and audial effects when landing or taking off from water. Low flying aircraft also produce a subtle wake effect on the water's surface just below each engine. Additionally, all vehicles - land or aerial - crashing into water now also produce splash effects when hitting the surface.

War Start Improvements Continuation

More information on an upcoming War will be available at the War Status Tent in the Home Region. Players can now see the world's logistics layout and structure locations, allowing them to better plan their logistics ahead of a war. This feature is an ongoing work in progress.

Security Fixes

There have been many gameplay fixes and mechanic changes under the hood to better protect the game's integrity. This is an ongoing process, and we ask players to continue sending Code of Conduct violation reports to our Freshdesk Ticketing System so our Moderation team can investigate.

Quality of Life Improvements

Stance Change While in Action

Infantry can now toggle crouch while performing certain actions such as: reloading, attaching/detaching weapon accessories, equipping/unequipping items, using bandages, and when throwing grenades.

This is intended to allow players to get in and out of cover more quickly and to make combat feel more responsive and fluid. Pressing "Shift" will now also automatically uncrouch the player, allowing them to more easily sprint out of cover.

UI Colour Options

Players can now change the colouring of several UI elements such as map region zones, map intelligence icons and player name tags by using the new sliders on the Graphics options menu. The map intelligence icons themselves have also gone through a minor visual update.

Map Intel Vehicle Direction

Map intel vehicle icons now rotate on the map screen, allowing players to more easily determine which direction they're travelling.

Material Transfer Station Map Tooltip

Reserved Material Transfer Stations now show their contents on Squad Members' map tooltip.

Reservation Improvements

Players that select Return Home will keep their reserved slot on that region for 2 minutes. This is intended for cases where players want to quickly redeploy to another location in that same region.

Tooltip Improvements

We've conducted an extensive revision of item and vehicle tooltips, clearing up confusing or misleading descriptions to improve the player experience.

New Content

Update 67 brings new non-combat content in the form of a new buildable structure and a new logistics Large Ship.

Radar Bunker

The Radar Bunker is a new intel-gathering bunker garrison for detecting enemy aircraft at a distance, providing early warning of incoming aircraft. It requires power to detect Air Intelligence within a cone and can be rotated by an operator using "A" and "D", similar to Observation Towers. As part of this addition, Tier 3 Observation Bunkers no longer collect Air Intel.

Liquid Transport Ship - Tümmler by VAC

The Tümmler is a neutral logistics ship intended for hauling large quantities of liquid across bodies of water. It has two separate stockpiles for holding liquid each with two transfer points, which allows for liquid transfers between facilities and Oil Rigs, as well as refueling other ships.

A new pipe structure can be attached to the end point of an existing pipeline in order to allow liquid transfers to occur between a facility and the liquid transport ship.

Additionally, Liquid Silos no longer require a pipe segment in between each one, and can more freely be attached to pipe attachment points.

Balance Changes & Bug Fixes

Update 67 also includes many bug fixes as well as some balance changes. For the full changelog, check the Dev branch patch notes once they're out.
