chapter 08

The Wardens crept up slowly through the brush, soon they were in sight of the gate. As of now the gate was only protected by a platoon of about 30 soldiers, comparing to their 60. A half-track was also among them. Though that would change if they didn’t attack soon. Noble looked around at everyone before nodding. He took out a grenade, pulled the pin off with his teeth, then hurled it at the nearest Collie. He and his two buddies near him went up in a BOOM. With that he yelled,”FOR HB!” and everyone charged recklessly at the enemy. The Collies were caught off guard and at least five had been killed before they began firing back. The half-track began firing but one of the Wardens took out an RPG and fired, the rocket smashing into the halftrack. Their own half track meanwhile drove in, Stronk firing from the gun. The battle was going well.

Boots crunched on the ground, the whiff of smoke sulfur and gunpowder hangs around the air.There are no birds chirping, no other sound. There is only the crunching of boots and the smell in the air. Sgt.Strok and his 4 man team are the advance scouting party for the warden advance. Their objective:Push forward and scout the crossroads in front,if enemies are spotted , radio back to HQ and engage them, do not retreat. Sgt.Strok was specifically irritated with the last end of the order. Word has it that the 75th colonial tank division was sighted right ahead of their objective. It was a suicide scout mission but if he turned back, he and his men could be executed for disobey of order. He had no choice but to continue forward with his 3 men.

HalberHahn and Boomlover made their way from the Carpal trail bridge, Deadlands, and head out Eastwards towards Abandoned Ward, currently in Warden hands. After some stealthy destruction of an outpost, cutting off many of the enemy's defences, they made their way towards the enemy townhall, untouched. With no mortar shells left, they found themselves a French RPG operator and took time to mock the Wardens with a quick photograph.
