For the last 2 years, a small part of the Foxhole team has been quietly working on an experimental server technology platform. The goal of the project is to push the limits of dense massively multiplayer experiences. 

 

Even though we cannot bring this technology to Foxhole, we are excited about the possibilities it can open up for our future projects.

 

We've already run one test with this tech. See Red River Demo.

We're now ready to run a new test with a focus on persistence. We want to see that the tech can simulate a persistent single shard world that can run for weeks on end.

To test this goal, we've created a medieval themed town building simulator called Anvil.

This is initially going to start with an invite only closed test. We hope to run this first test in the coming weeks. If you're interested in helping us with this test, please sign up for the mailing list. Players will be selected randomly for the first phase.
